Acquisition Finance For Unified Communications

Capital raised: £4.5M
Client: Direct Response

Direct Response provides award winning voice, data and contact centre services.

With service quality as its key focus, it works with businesses across a wide range of sectors, to provide the right services to help them communicate with their customers and is supported by over 400 contact centre agents located both in the UK and internationally.

As an early stage business, Direct Response required an injection of funds to make two acquisitions of UK call centres, to bring scale and an added technology focus to the group, whilst minimising equity dilution.

Debt raised has allowed them to complete the first stage of their acquisition strategy and puts them inot a position where they are able to maximise opportunity and seek further investment to continue their growth.

Excellent Return on Unique Offer

Capital raised: £8m
Client: GetLenses

Exhibiting strong growth, since its inception in 2008, GetLenses brought cohesion to a fragmented market by providing next day delivery of contact lenses in the UK, via the internet.
Its ambition was to dominate the European market. To secure this growth, finnCap raised £8m, in January 2013, in the form of debt and equity to allow GetLenses to acquire VisionDirect for £6m and provide working capital for the enlarged group.
VisionDirect was the number 1 online seller of contact lenses in the UK. The acquisition consolidated the two market leaders with the anticipation that the combined business would either make further acquisitions or be acquired by a larger European or US competitor.
In February 2016 the combined business was acquired by Essilor realising a healthy return for equity investors.
