Introduction to Debt Advisory
The Debt Advisory Team structures, sources and executes debt financing transactions for private and public companies.
Debt Markets
The UK debt financing landscape is continually evolving and becoming increasingly sophisticated. This is primarily as a result of increased competition from new and alternative Lenders (including Credit Funds, Asset-Based Lenders and Challenger Banks) to traditional Clearing Banks. This has resulted in significant liquidity available for borrowers.
In 2022, we expect companies’ focus to shift from survival and cash preservation seen during the early stages of the pandemic to strategic growth initiatives (with an ever increasing relevance of ESG responsibilities).
However, this optimism should be tempered by the unwinding of government-backed loan schemes and the likelihood of further interest rate rises over the course of the year.
Our experience
The team has extensive experience in providing advice to business stakeholders from both a principal lender and strategic advisor perspective. The team provides clients with:
- A truly independent and trusted advisor complemented by sector expertise;
- A fully involved Partner that spends time to understand a client’s business model and strategic objectives;
- Active project management of the debt raising process to minimise distractions to the client’s day-to-day running of their business;
- Access to a large network of UK lenders as well as to local lenders across the globe through the Oaklins’ Debt Advisory Group and its presence in over 45 countries; and
- Support to achieve the optimal capital solution through either traditional debt financing or alternative capital solutions via the wider finnCap Group’s capabilities.
Services
The team is able to support clients in accessing the debt markets in a number of circumstances, which often dovetail with a wider approach to a capital raise through other finnCap Group services.
